# The Benefits of Circuit Convolution: behavioral complexity arises from developmentally- simulated nonlinearity. Presenter: Bradly Alicea Contribution: Pre-recorded Video presentation Public ID: talk-d61e3f8d2ce726ee ## Submitted abstract While the generation of behaviors is generally substrate-agnostic (there is more than one way to build a neural circuit), complex behaviors require an increase in representational complexity. We explore an architecture called the biological Rube Goldberg Machine (bRGM). This will be used to model the Developmental Neurosimulation of a generalized architecture that produces spatial navigation behaviors. Developmental Neurosimulation has been used to simulate the development of Braitenberg Vehicles. In this talk, we will explore the neurosimulation of Cybernetic Convolution Networks (CCNs), which have the potential to add great complexity to sensor-effector pairings. Additional connections to agentive learning and optimization models of behavior will also be discussed.
